He is the childhood idol of Quentin Tarantino.
Many of his characters from his early TV series are the inspiration for characters in numerous Tarantino films.
He picked up where Bruce Lee left off in kung-fu movies, and was embraced by American audiences as the new master of martial arts.
Many of his films are cult classics.
