He harvested kidneys from impoverished Indian workers by enticing them with job offers, then threatening them at gunpoint.
His doctors performed illegal transplants on wealthy patients from all over the world.
He had at least six fake identities and passports.
He escaped a raid on his Indian clinics, possibly because he had been warned in advance (January 2008).
He was arrested in 1994 for running a kidney ring but jumped bail and adopted a new name.
Many of his donors are permanently disabled and unable to support their families.

He proves that those stories about kidney thieves are not just urban myths.
