Why he might be annoying
They were one hit wonders.
Keen's last name was misspelled 'Keene' on their sole album.
Newman's idiosyncratic piano playing prompted one critic to say he 'sounded as if he were wearing boxing gloves.'
Newman said that he got along well with Keen but did not care for his music, while with McCulloch the situation was the opposite.
McCulloch died of a heroin overdose at age 26.
Guitarist Peter Goodall, who played with the band for a few live gigs, cashed in on a popular commercial featuring 'Something in the Air' by putting together a band called 'Thunderclap,' much to Newman's annoyance.
Why he might not be annoying
'Something in the Air' topped the British charts for three weeks.
Pete Townshend produced and played bass on 'Something in the Air.'
McCulloch joined the band at age 16.
Keen had been Townshend's chauffer and a roadie for the Who.
After the band broke up McCulloch joined Paul McCartney in Wings.
Keen produced the debut album by Motorhead.
