He said that he no longer supports Brian Wilson because of his current 'point of view.'
He was largely responsible for the dismal disco remake of 'Here Comes the Night' on the Beach Boy's 'LA Album.'
He wrote a lot of really cheesy songs.
He tended towards easy listening in his production styles.
He was a proponent of the infamous 'Beach Boys cheerleaders.'

Why he might not be annoying
He writes the songs that make the whole world sing.
He was the first Beach Boy to win a Grammy.
He has not aged badly.
Despite leaving the group for six years, he guested on most of the albums released by them in that period.
He still performs over 170 shows a year, despite being over 60.
He is a talented keyboardist.
'Disney Girls' is a very popular song with Beach Boys fans.
He was one of the biggest proponents of 'Pet Sounds' and 'SMiLE' and was the first person to play 'Pet Sounds' for Paul McCartney and John Lennon.
He was the only Beach Boy not to practice Transcendental Meditation.
