Why he might be annoying:

    He was overshadowed by both Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau.
    He had a tendency to produce in the regular season and not in the playoffs.
    He was nicknamed 'Little Joe' as a result of Thornton having the moniker 'Jumbo Joe.'
    As a result of a clutch playoff performance, broadcasters began calling him 'The Big Pavelski.'

    He stepped up and took on a greater leadership role on the Sharks following the captaincy being stripped from Thornton.
