    70 half-hour episodes
Premise: Comedic family life of a Frankenstinian monster, his wife a vampire, her father Dracula, their son a werewolf-boy and their niece a beautiful girl

Why Munsters might be annoying:

The beautiful blonde character of Marilyn was named for Marilyn Monroe
Beverley Owen who thought she was only making a pilot, was distraught when the show was picked up. She wanted to return to New York, so as soon as her 13 episode contract ended she left the show.
The plots were pretty lame, usually revolving around the effects of a potion concocted by grandpa.
Although Fred Gwynne claimed not to be embarrassed by the role of Herman, he hated to speak about it.
Yvonne De Carlo went from a WW II pin-up girl to a monster.
Lily was a toned down rip-off of Vampira.
In an effort to bring the Munsters to the next generation, the TV series 'The Munsters Today' aka 'The New Munsters' was launched in 1988.
The premise for 'The Munster's Today' was that the original Munsters were in suspended animation for twenty years but they used an entirely different cast.
They filmed 'My Fair Munster' twice as a pilot and a third time as an episode.
Although Grandpa was Dracula it was never really stated on the show.
The Marilyn character was never explained, not that she looked normal, but why a niece was living with the Munsters. She was supposedly Lily's niece, but why is her last name Munster?
Al Lewis, Pat Priest and Butch Patrick launched a class action suit against a firm that manufactures a Las Vegas 'Munsters' slot machines (August 2003).
ABC placed 'Batman' opposite the 'Munsters' which sent them to an early grave,

Why Munsters might not be annoying:

The show echoed the sentiments of the non-conformist attitudes of the 1960's.
This is Howard Stern's favorite TV show (other than his own).
Herman and Lily were the first TV sit-com couple to sleep in the same bed.
Joe Connelly and Bob Mosher who developed, produced and wrote 'The Amos & Andy Show' and 'Leave it to Beaver' did the same for 'The Munsters.'
They were goth before goth was cool.
Fred Gwynne and Al Lewis starred together in 'Car 54, Where are You,' before reuniting for this show.
They put 1313 Mockingbird Lane on the map.
and Eddie Van Halen named their son Wolfgang, Eddie Munster's middle name.
The family cars, were the Munster Koach and Dragula.
They were CBS's answer to ABC's 'Addams Family,' which ran concurrently from September 1964-September 1966.
It spawned an animated series 'Mini-Munsters' (1973).
15 years after the show's final telecast, Fred Gwynne, Yvonne De Carlo and Al Lewis reprised their roles in a made for TV movie 'The Munsters' Revenge' (1981)
A full length movie based on 'The Munsters' is schedule for 2006.
The cast appeared in an Easter 1965 TV special at Marineland.
Rob Zombie's song 'Dragula' was named for their family car.
