    Also known simply as 'ELP'
    Members were:
    Keith Emerson (keyboards)
Greg Lake (guitar, bass, lead vocals)
    Carl Palmer (drums)
Recorded 'Lucky Man,' 'Karn Evil 9,' 'Still...You Turn Me On' and 'Are You Ready Eddie'
The band's name is really unimaginative.
During the 1970s, there was a joke: 'How do you spell pretentious?' Answer: 'E-L-P.'
Greg Lake insisted on performing onstage while standing on a Persian carpet.
Emerson and Lake reunited with drummer Cozy Powell (name starts with a P--get it?).
They sold millions of records, even though rock critics hated them.
They all came from other bands, like the Nice, King Crimson and Atomic Rooster.
Greg Lake played with Ringo Starr's All-Starr Band.
