Why The Early Show might be annoying:

Since its inception, the news program is plagued by low ratings compared to Today and Good Morning America .
They kept switching from national format to local/national hybrid format.
It revived Bryant Gumbel's career.
Former correspondent Rene Syler claimed the producers fired her from the program.
They hired Shelley Ross to help revive ratings. Yet they fired her after six months due to personal feuds with the anchors.

Why The Early Show might not be annoying:

For a while, they used Sting's 'Brand New Day' as the program's theme song.
