Why she might be annoying:

    She looked like Susan Sarandon.
    She was forced to change her debut album title from 'Elemental' to a self-titled one after it was revealed that Loretta McKennitt recorded an album with the same title when she leased the master copy back to the CBC.
    She was considered a one-hit wonder in the Canadian music scene with 'Shade of Your Love.'
    She was addicted to prescription drugs, after she took them to deal with the complications stemming from an auto accident.
    She waited 15 years to record another album, which wound up being her last mainstream one.

    She was a mainstay in the East Coast music scene.
    She earned two East Coast Music Awards for her album B'tween the Earth and My Soul (1994).
    She wrote most of her own songs.
    She was involved in theatre productions, along with singing.
    She successfully overcame her addictions to prescription pain killers in her later years, prior to her death.
