Why he might be annoying
He turned Argentina into a haven for Nazi war criminals.
He was excommunicated by the Catholic Church (1955).
He shut down many of the country's universities to silent student dissent.
While in exile, he hosted parties attended by his wife Isabel and the embalmed body of his late wife Evita.
He has a smaller part in the musical 'Evita' than Che Guevara who never even met Eva Peron.
Why he might not be annoying
He was popular with his country's poor and working class.
The decree of excommunication was lifted (1963).
He was allowed back from exile as the only person who could unite Argentina's left and right wing factions.
His tomb was broken into and his hands stolen (1987).
