U.S. Congressman
    (January 8, 1952- )
    Representative from Illinois (1993-95)
    Democrat
He resigned from the House after being convicted on 12 counts of sexual assault, solicitation of child pornography and obstruction of justice.
He was taped describing sexual encounters with a 16-year-old campaign worker he called his 'sweet young pussy.'
He claimed he was the victim of racism, saying, 'When they shackle me, like they shackled my slave ancestors, and take me off to jail, nobody in this room will see me crawl.'
While serving five years for that crime, he was convicted on fifteen unrelated charges of bank fraud, diverting campaign funds for personal use and lying to the Federal Elections Commission (1997).
After his release, Reynolds was hired by Jesse Jackson's Rainbow Coalition as a counselor to try to decrease the number of young African-Americans going to prison (2001).
He was ordered to move because of an Illinois law preventing convicted sex offenders from living within 500 feet of an elementary school (2005).
    He was a Rhodes Scholar.
He admitted to engaging in phone sex with the 16-year-old, but denied they had had sexual intercourse.
He was overwhelmingly defeated in his attempt to regain his old seat by campaigning against Jesse Jackson, Jr. (2004)
