    Alternative spellings of her name include Om Kalsoum and Om Kalthoum
    Best known and loved singer of the Arab world
    Recordings include ‘Whom Should I Go To?’ (1958), ‘I Abandoned You’ (1959), ‘Hope of My Life’ (1965), ‘The Talk of the Soul’ (1967) and ‘You That Keeps Me Awake at Night’ (1972)
