The Resume

    (November 22, 1994- )
    Born in Perth, Australia
Birth name is Dacre Kayd Montgomery-Harvey
Portrayed Jason (The Red Ranger) in the 'Power Rangers' reboot (2017)
Portrays Billy on Netflix's 'Stranger Things'
Acted in 'Bertrand the Terrible,' 'Family Tree,' 'Safe Neighborhood,' and 'A Few Less Men'

Why he might be annoying:

He could pass as Zac Efron's long-lost fraternal twin.
He Australian accent tends to randomly 'pop out' when he portrays American characters.
He filmed a video of himself dancing naked (in a G-String technically) for his 'Stranger Things' audition tape.
He admits to not having been a fan of the Power Rangers franchise as a kid (or just to not having grown up watching the shows).
And judging by the detached, unenthused look on his face during promotional group interviews (like he'd rather be anywhere else), its safe to say he probably STILL isn't a diehard fan.
While the 'Rangers' reboot didn't turn out to be a complete flop, it certainly wasn't the blockbuster they all probably hoped it would be.
When asked if there were any similarities between himself and the jock 'Jason' character, he answered '[No,] I was overweight, I didn’t really have any friends, I didn’t play sports.'

Why he might not be annoying:

    His name means 'trickling stream.'
His parents were both in the Australian filmmaking profession.
He cites Hugh Jackman and Heath Ledger as his professional role models.
He is a huge Empire fan who binge watches episodes on the sets of projects.
He received his Bachelor of Performing Arts from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, graduating in 2015 (on his 21st birthday).
He dually promoted both of his projects by donning a special 'Ranger Things' shirt on several occasions.
It was actually refreshing to have superhero franchise be kicked off with the casting of a newcomer (as opposed to and not some Hollywood star alternating between roles).
He reportedly took a leadership role when the 'Power Rangers' cast was finally assembled, starting a group chat for all five to get acquainted.
He was praised by 'the original Red Ranger,' Austin St. John, who said: 'Dacre's a great guy. He brought his leadership and his own special take on the Red Ranger to the role. I was proud of him.'
