Author
    (January 27, 1832-January 14, 1898)
Birth name was Charles Lutwidge Dodgson
Wrote 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865)' and 'Through the Looking Glass (1871)'
    He grew up rich.
    He had a bad stutter.
His books use many nonsense words.
He liked to photograph very young girls in the nude.
His images and characters inspired a lot of drug-related entertainment in the 1960s and 1970s.
Despite much gossip about him, no real evidence of improper conduct with children has ever surfaced.
He was bullied as a child.
He studied to become a minister, but quit because he didn't believe that non-Christians went to hell.
His children's books didn't have moral agendas (very unusual for the time).
He used children's literature to make fun of stuffy Victorian culture.
Some of his nonsense words, like 'mishmash' and 'chortle,' have become established in the English language.
