The Resume

    (September 26, 1960- )
    Born in Boston, Massachusetts
    Font designer
    Former Microsoft employee (1994-99)
Best known for designing the Comic Sans font
Also created the Trebuchet MS and Magpie fonts and contributed to Webdings

Why he might be annoying:

He developed Comic Sans to be used by the cartoon guides in Microsoft Bob, but missed the deadline for it.
Comic Sans has been widely derided, especially due to its frequent use in places where a more formal font would have been appropriate. (Examples: a CERN announcement of the discovery of the Higgs boson; a letter from former Trump attorney John Down informing the House Intelligence Committee that two of his clients would be unable to provide requested documents; even a Dutch World War II memorial.)
He claimed in a 2017 interview to have used Comic Sans only once, in a letter complaining about his broadband service. (‘They didn’t deserve anything better.’)
He said, ‘If you love Comic Sans, you don’t know much about typography.’

Why he might not be annoying:

His thought that inspired Comic Sans: ‘Dogs don’t talk in Times New Roman.’
He said, ‘Comic Sans does what it was commissioned to do. It is loved by kids, mums, and dads, so it did its job very well.’
He has a sense of humor about the mockery of Comic Sans, calling it ‘the Justin Bieber of fonts.’
He said, ‘If you hate Comic Sans, you should get another hobby.’
