    TV credits include Douglas Wambaugh on ‘Picket Fences’ (1994 Emmy) and Harvey Lipschultz on ‘Boston Public’
    Also appeared on ‘Hollywood Squares’, ‘The Simpsons’ and ‘Chicago Hope’
    Film credits include ‘Q & A (1990)’ and ‘The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars (voice, 1998)’
    He appeared in the dismal remake of ‘Fantasy Island’ in 1998.
    Though his English name is ‘Philip,’ he was referred to as ‘Fyvush’ (its Yiddish version) in school.
    His mannerisms drew comparisons to those of the stereotypical Jew.
    He was a judge for the 2005 World Pastrami Eating Championships in New York.
    His career began at age nine, in the Yiddish theaters of the Lower east Side.
    He spent 12 years with the national touring company of ‘Fiddler on the Roof,’ working up from the role of innkeeper to that of Tevye.
    He created two successful one-man-shows: Finkel’s Follies in 1990 and From Second Avenue to Broadway in 1996.
    His marriage has lasted since 1947.
