Why he might be annoying:

He fell overboard fourteen times in six weeks working on a canal boat, and he couldn't swim.
He was a preacher and lawyer.
His wife charged him with 'lawless passion' for his extra marital affair (1862).
He was the second president shot in office (July 2, 1881).
Doctors attempted to find the bullet using a metal detector invented by Alexander Graham Bell. But the device failed because his bed had metal springs.

After his inauguration he kissed his mother (March 4, 1881).
He was named for his older brother who died in infancy.
He entertained friends by writing Latin with one hand and Greek with the other.
He was considered a great orator.

He was our first left-handed president.
