    Asteroid Zappafrank was named in his honor (July 1994).
    He had a strong following in Communist countries.
    When he got married, in lieu of a ring he gave his wife a pen saying 'congratulations from Mayor Lindsay.'
    He wrote many creative instrumental and satirical lyrics.
    He spoke out against censorship.
    He hosted Saturday Night Live (which inspired him to create the song 'Conehead' from 'You Are What You Is.'
    He appeared as musical guest on SNL and ironically performed 'I'm The Slime'
    He was a huge Howard Stern fan and as he grew near death, he watched Stern's WWOR TV shows.
    He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (1995).
    He was a workaholic hippy.
